How do you choose the Realtor to use when buying or selling a home?

Buying and selling real estate is a tough business. It takes years of learing to understand the complexities that are involved in each transaction.   so you might think that longevity is the main quality.  Or maybe you think the one who charges the lowest commission is the best for you.

In my opinion (and I say this after spending 4 decades as a real estate broker) longevity and commission should not be what you base your decision on.

To me it is PROBLEM SOLVING.  How well can your Realtor solve the inevitable problems that will arise.
